Fall 2015 Trends: The 70’s Part 3

Fringe, you either love it or hate it.  I personally love it.  It’s fun, and there’s so many ways you can wear it.  You can buy an inexpensive purse or invest in a nice skirt or dress.

Here’s a couple of options if you want to try the trend:

This gorgeous skirt is from Zara for $69.90

This fringe cross body bag is $29.90 at Express. There's also a really cute option at Forever 21 for $27.90

I could probably make a lot more posts about 70’s trend, but I think 3 is enough.  🙂

I picked these pieces to be worn separately, not together 😉

Fall 2015 Trends: The 70’s Part 2

When I started writing about the Fall 2015 trends I was going to do each trend separately, but every magazine and every designer had different opinions about what the trends of 2015 were going to be.  The one thing that I saw over and over were pieces from the 70’s.  I thought about doing one post on the 70’s, but it would have been obnoxiously long, and no one would ever read it.

I started thinking that the flare jeans was going to be my favorite 70’s trend, because it’s just so easy.  Then I saw the mini skirt.  There’s so many different versions of it.  You could get it in leather, faux leather, suede, button up.  They are strangely sexy and innocent at the same time.  I am obsessed.

Here are a few of my favorite mini skirt looks:

This button skirt is from Zara and is only $39.90
This front button skirt is only $39.90 from Zara.
A line mini from Express
This red patch pocket A-line mini is from Express for $49.90
This is my favorite look. It's sexy without trying too hard. You can also get this skirt from Express. It will cost you about $69.90. The sweater is $39.90.

This one is a little different, but I love the color and the fact that it's suede. If you are a little braver, this is a perfect option for you.

Fall 2015 Trends: The 70’s Part 1

Hey guys!

Fall is coming!!!!  I think that most people agree that Fall is the best season, ever.  I live in Georgia where it is unbearably hot, and when Fall hits it’s like the cool breeze you get when you are at the beach.  You know the one where you are blisteringly hot, contemplating about getting in the water because you are sweating buckets, and then this sweet little puff of air comes by and it makes you feel refreshed?  That is what Autumn is like.

Although it is still 800 degrees here, and it’s hard to think of jeans or sweaters, I feel like I’m seeing the light.  The light at the end of a very long, very hot, tunnel.

So, I looked up some of the top Fall trends for 2015 and saw that pieces inspired by the 70’s are everywhere.

One of my favorite trends (and one of the easiest to pull off) for Fall 2015 are Flare Jeans.  Flare Jeans are universally flattering.  They are meant to make the legs look like they go on for, forever (YAY, for the petite girls!!)I purchased these a few months back and can’t wait to wear them on a regular basis.

Express Flare Jeans
Express Flare Jeans

These fit amazing!  I bought a real dark pair, almost trousery (you know what I’m talking about, right?) pair and a medium wash pair.

My favorite way to wear these are with like a good pair of wedges or a block heel.  I have a pair that I got from Old Navy that are super cute, and I got them for under $20.  The jeans I have linked above right now are 40% off.  That makes this pair less than $50.  The shipping isn’t free until you’ve purchased over $125, which is a little disappointing, but if you have an Express near you it would be worth checking out.

These are from Jcrew Factory. I love this whole outfit.

These are regularly $89.50, but they are on sale for $64.50 right now.

Boyfriend Jeans

I don’t know that there is much to say about boyfriend jeans that hasn’t already been said.  They are cool, effortless, and comfortable.

Even knowing all of this it took me a while to get a pair.  First off, I am 5’11” so finding jeans to fit me is always a hassle.  Another issue is that I am picky, and the term boyfriend jeans holds a wide range of jeans.  You can get them extremely baggy to a little more fitted.

I am not endowed in the buttocks region (too much information?) so I tend to like my jeans a little more fitted.  I had tried on numerous pairs while out in the mall with no luck.  I became determined to get a pair one day, and I ordered about 5 pairs online, some from GAP, Inc, Old Navy, and ASOS.com.

I ended up loving the ones from Old Navy!  They were also the cheapest!  Win, win!

I was attempting to do the JLo half ponytail with no luck. Don't judge me.

Black & White

As I mentioned in my previous blog post, I love practical pieces.  I also love black and white.  It’s almost like an obsession.  If I don’t know what to wear I always gravitate towards a black and white piece or pieces.  It’s a great go to when you want to look pulled together in a casual setting or when dressing up.  Whoever sets the standards for the trends of the moment can’t get enough either.  It’s been a major trend for a while now, and I don’t think it’s going away.  Maybe it’s on every trend list because it’s not even really a trend.  It’s a staple.

Enough of me going on about how I love black and white.  I love this outfit because it’s super affordable and….it’s black and white 🙂

Long Time No See

Hi guys! I am sorry for taking such a long break. I was dealing with some personal things, but now I am back :). If you have not noticed already, I am all about practical pieces. Pieces that can be mixed and matched with several things and dressed up or down. This pink Jcrew top is one of those pieces. I love this shirt. I love wearing it with skinny jeans, and nude heels when I go out and dressing it down with the shorts that I have on in the photo. I was just running errands when wearing this outfit so I wanted something cute, but not overly fussy. I hope y’all like it.

Comfy Pants

unnamed

Yesterday I had to run some errands, but my inner child was like “No, let’s not be an adult today and put on adult clothing”  So, of course I listened.   I grabbed the comfiest pants I had.  The closest thing to sweat pants without actually being sweatpants.  I put on some baggy linen pants.  These things are amazingly comfortable, and it looks like you tried even if you didn’t.  I suggest everyone owning a pair.

Loft currently has a pair on their website.  They come in petite and tall, which is a plus.  They are $69.50, but when you visit the website and give them your email address they will provide you with 25% off.

Coupons & Coffee

Good morning y’all!

I found this coupon on the kitchen counter for ULTA’s 20% off one item and have been contemplating what to get ever since.  There are two products that are sticking out in my mind, Benefits Roller Lash mascara and one of Becca’s highlighters.  Are there any new products y’all are wanting to try?  If so, let me know.

Weekend Recap

This weekend was really fun and really tiring.  My nephew spent the night Friday night and anytime a 3 year old is involved expect to be exhausted.  Earlier on Friday I went to Atlanta with my boyfriend to watch some tennis.  I do not know much about tennis, and if you don’t either then you would think the same thing as me; that sounds super lame, but it actually ended up being a lot of fun.  It was so beautiful outside so that didn’t hurt.  Saturday was spent on the boat with my nephew, my parents, and maybe a little bit of adult beverages.  I think I was in bed by 8:30 pm.  I know, I’m old.  Sunday I had to go to a baptism and then lunch afterwards.  The rest of the day was spent relaxing with my new favorite Sunday treat, mimosas!

Here’s a few pics from this weekend and a couple of my outfits.

About Last Night

So, last night was my Mom’s birthday.  My two sisters, their kids, my mom, my dad, and myself all went to my mom’s favorite restaurant, El Rio.  If you are from the Cumming, GA area then you know exactly which restaurant I’m talking about. If you are not, it is a hole in the wall place that if you drove by you would never (EVER) think of eating at.  However, the food is good and the margaritas are AMAZING.

Anyways, I took all of 30 minutes to get ready.  For some of you this may be enough time; but for me, I need at LEAST a solid hour to be presentable.  Because of my lack of time and obviously my lack of imagination, I chose a t-shirt and a pair of jeans.  (And this is where I am super vulnerable and put pics of myself and family on the internet. Please be kind.)image
